Donegal County Council has granted planning permission to turn the former Corner Bar in Ballyshannon into apartments.
Applicants Pat and Ann Gillespie were successful in securing an application for the renovation of the former public house and living accommodation into three self-contained apartments.
Moreover, the application includes alterations to all facades and a connection to the existing public sewerage system, as well as all associated site development works.
The Corner Bar, situated at the junction of Chapel Street and Market Street, has been derelict for some time.

Corner Stone Associates, writing on behalf of the applicants, said the proposals would "help the appearance of the main street by bringing the building back to a high standard and also provide some much-needed accommodation for the area."
