Reports of a feud between Selena Gomez and Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham are untrue, an insider tells PEOPLE.

"There's no bad blood," the source says, refuting a report that Gomez was "betrayed" and cut off by the couple. "Relationships evolve, and it's true they're not as close as they once were, but there wasn't any one thing that happened."

Gomez, 33, Nicola, 30, and Brooklyn, 26, quickly became close friends after first connecting at the Academy Museum Gala back in October 2022.

In the months following, the trio went on vacations, celebrated holidays together and even got matching tattoos. "Fine calls [sic] us a throuple #foreverplusone," Gomez captioned a post in January 2023.

However, fans noticed Gomez was not in attendance at the couple's vow renewal in August, nor were Nicola and Brooklyn present at the actress' recent star-studded wedding.

The insider confirms they weren't at the wedding, but not because of any drama: "There's nothing but love and well wishes from them for Selena and Benny."

Nicola and Brooklyn have been estranged from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham -- though the superstar couple recently nodded to their oldest son at the release of Victoria's new Netflix documentary.

"I love you Mrs Beckham for many reasons , for being my wife , for giving me 4 beautiful children , for making my vitamins each day & for bringing you're story to life," David wrote in his Instagram post on Oct. 9.

He went on to tell his wife he's "very proud of the journey." "You should be very proud 🩷 And for the record you can make a Ham&Cheese sandwich very well 🫣 We love you x @victoriabeckham," he concluded.

While Nicola and Brooklyn were absent from the premiere, Victoria included her son in her speech. "My children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper -- and David -- oh my God, he's not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well!" she joked.

Despite the family turmoil, a source previously told PEOPLE the Beckhams still hoped to mend the rift.

"The relationship is definitely not beyond repair," the source said. "They love and are always there for [Brooklyn.] They're just hurt and disappointed that he's playing no part in family life."
