Ahmedabad Show Breaks Diljit-Justin Bieber's Record For Largest Concert In India
Industrialist Anand Mahindra shared a spellbinding video clip of Coldplay's Ahmedabad concert. The aerial shot of the gig from the band's The Music of the Spheres tour's biggest show ever, hosted in the city's Motera Stadium. With 1.34 lakh fans, the British alt-rock band outdid previous records of Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber for the largest ticketed concert ever in India. Mahindra dubbed the venue the "new frontier of live entertainment." Coldplay performed in the town on January 25, and 26. The Republic Day show was live streamed on Disney+ HotStar as well.
The Chris Martin-led four-men band concluded their five gigs in the country with the last two in Ahmedabad, which incidentally were an afterthought by Coldplay, adding to the Mumbai shows. Coldplay's previous India concert was in 2016 at the Golden Citizen Festival in Mumbai. The band's ongoing Music of the Spheres global tour, their eighth, started in 2022 with their first gig at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose, the capital of San Jose province in Costa Rica. The whirlwind tour will wrap with its final show at London's Wembley Stadium on September 8, 2025.
