Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Bad Company to reunite for ceremony
Bad Company's Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke are set to reunite for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The rock icons are set to be inducted as part of the Class of 2025 alongside fellow musical legends OutKast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, Chubby Checker, and Joe Cocker in the 'Performance Category'.
As the two surviving members of the original Bad Company line-up, following the deaths of Boz Burrell in 2008 and Mick Ralphs earlier this year, Rodgers and Kirke are set to roll back the years to perform two songs at the event.
Kirke revealed the news on Lyndsanity! with Lyndsey Parker, sharing (via Consequence), "I think the secret is out that we will perform. I don't know -- I might get into trouble, but I saw some Google news that Bad Company will perform at the Hall of Fame."
The drummer didn't go as far as revealing what they plan to plan, adding, "I'm not at liberty to say which songs. I mean, quite honestly, I don't give a shit. We're gonna play, and whatever Paul chooses is fine by me."
Looking ahead to the ceremony, Kirke shared his excitement and said it will be "a real thrill for me" to perform with Rodgers again, noting, "I missed playing with the band. I miss playing particularly with Paul, 'cause he's such a wonderful singer."
The ceremony is set to take place on November 8th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, however, who will be performing on the night is set to remain under wraps until then.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recently revealed that Chappell Roan will have the honour of inducting Cyndi Lauper. The 'Pink Pony Club' singer said of getting the nod: "I actually auditioned with 'True Colors' for America's Got Talent when I was 13. I didn't make it, but the song is still incredible. I'm so excited, thank you for having me."
With less than two weeks to go until the event, it is unclear who will be inducting Bad Company. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame previously announced a series of performers and presenters for the ceremony earlier this month, confirming Olivia Rodrigo, Elton John, Doja Cat, Questlove, Twenty One Pilots, Raye, Beck, and Missy Elliott would be involved in some capacity.
