Typhoon Tino: Where to donate to help affected communities

Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) left parts of the Visayas region devastated, causing widespread flooding, toppled trees, and soil erosion in several areas.

According to a report by the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) on Wednesday, the fatalities due to the impact of Tino have now increased to 66.

Most of the deaths were reported in Central Visayas, with 50.

Meanwhile, a total of 26 individuals have been reported missing -- 13 in Negros Occidental and 13 in Cebu Province -- while at least 10 people sustained injuries due to the typhoon.

Overall, Typhoon Tino has affected around 707,000 individuals, or approximately 204,000 families, across the impacted regions.

From Visayas, Tino moved towards Palawan, where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 was raised in the northernmost portion of the province (El Nido, Taytay, Araceli) including Calamian Islands.
