High school basketball: Parish Jamboree set for Saturday at Parkway

The annual Bossier Parish Jamboree is Saturday at Parkway.

Plain Dealing faces Haughton in girls and boys games beginning at 1 p.m. Those will be followed by girls and boys games games between Airline and Bossier at 3:30 and Parkway and Benton at 6.

The regular season begins Monday. Haughton hosts Lakeview in girls and boys games, and Plain Dealing visits Evangel Christian in a girls game.

In Tuesday's girls season openers, Parkway hosts Arcadia, Airline hosts West Monroe and Bossier visits Plain Dealing.

In a boys season opener, Airline visits Ouachita Parish.

The Plain Dealing boys open their season Friday at home against Magnolia School of Excellence. The Bossier boys are playing in the Captain Shreve Classic Friday.

Providence Classical Academy opens its season in the LHSAA Thursday with girls and boys games at North Caddo.

There are three new head coaches. Eddie Hamilton has replaced the retired Sean Koeppen as boys head coach at Plain Dealing.

Benton has new girls and boys head coaches -- Lyndzee McConathy (girls) and Jake Bankston (boys).

McConathy replaced Mary Ward, who stepped down after a highly successful career that included a Class 5A state championship. Bankston replaced Todd Martinez, now the head coach at West Ouachita.
