Fans of the hugely popular ITV soap opera have lashed out at bosses for employing an "overdone" trick on the show.
Viewers of the programme took to an official forum to express their pet peeve, making a "request to Corrie" to drop the excessive use of stunts.
Coronation Street is well-known for its use of special events every so often with notable ones being the fire at Platt's house and the tram crash.
Taking to the Coronation Street Reddit, one fan made a "request to Corrie".
They told ITV bosses: "The recent budget cuts aren't Kate Brooks's fault, the recent exits and cuts started way before her.
"It's not really fair, but please corrie, learn that you no longer have the funding from ITV you once had.
"You cannot do these stunts and make them look good anymore. Know your limitations."
Other users were quick to agree with another person penning: "Plus they're so overdone now.
"These set-pieces lose all impact when the show so routinely relies on them. Putting more focus on the character-driven would aid the show and the budget!"

The original poster replied: "I know that they are even limited on character appearances, but stopping the stunts and special effects must free up some money for that.
"There was some good character stuff tonight, that costs 0 budget."
Another viewer shared a different theory about the apparent money troubles at the studio, telling others: "The problem for years has been that the Corrie bosses have wasted money keeping on these characters that do nothing on the show but exist in the background.
"I've joked with my mother that the actor who plays Kirk probably has dirt on the Corrie bosses and are forced to pay him to keep him quiet about their scandalous secrets."
