GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -On September 15, nonprofits from around the community gathered to kick off this year's Grand Valley Gives.
Grand Valley Gives is a collaboration of 57 nonprofits in Mesa County that take part in Colorado Gives Day, which is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase giving back to the community.
The nonprofits include a range of causes, including groups that help animals, the environment, and kids. They're working together to increase local awareness and participation in Colorado Gives Day.
"From everything from working with animals to housing to food insecurity and everything in between. A community really needs nonprofits that address those societal needs that people have," said Joy Thompson, the Founder and President of Grand Valley Gives.
People can donate for Colorado Gives Day starting on November 1 through the designated Colorado Gives Day on December 9. All donations made goes straight back to the nonprofits to help them continue their work.
