Miss Universe fans hail 'the end of wokeness' and credit The Trump Effect after biological w
Miss Universe fans have praised the so-called 'Trump effect' after a biological woman was crowned winner of the beauty contest.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, 21, of Denmark assumed the honor Saturday evening, following an extravagant display at the 73rd Miss Universe final in Mexico City.
She beat out more than 120 other contestants to do so, after the 2023 competition featured married, plus-sized, and transgender contestants.
This year's contest was more traditional, despite the pageant recently being bought by a Thai media mogul who's a fierce campaigner for trans rights.
Fans are seemingly thrilled that Theilvig, an entrepreneur and professional dancer, won the competition, with many hailing her victory as the end of 'wokeness' and an indication of how a Trump administration could shift societal values.
Social media users linked Theilvig's victory to the MAGA movement and thanked Trump, who once owned the Miss Universe Organization, for 'bringing sanity back' to the pageant industry.
'Trump wins and a woman finally wins Miss Universe. The world is healing,' one fan tweeted, while another added: 'It's the Trump effect in action.'
Some fans said they were 'surprised' by the contest result and could not believe 'Miss Universe is a woman this time'.
'Can we call this Trump's effect?' one X user questioned. 'I can't believe this.'
'Wokeness is officially over. This is the new Miss Universe,' another hailed, sharing a gorgeous photo of Theilvig sporting her Miss Denmark sash and her nation's flag.
'This is Miss Denmark, who was just crowned Miss Universe,' wrote another, also sharing a photograph of the beauty queen. 'It's the Trump Effect in action. Had Kamala won, the prize would've gone to a 40-year-old transgender.'
One MAGA fan added: 'We even have a real woman as Miss Universe 2024. Thank you President Trump for bringing back sanity to the world!'
Another suggested that Theilvig's victory shows that 'Trump is actually making America great again'.
Despite MAGA fans' excitement, a biological woman being crowned Miss Universe 2024 was in fact a foregone conclusion as there were no trans contestants competing in this year's pageant.
