Ozzy Osbourne is facing a lawsuit over allegedly posting photos taken of himself across his social media channels.
Famous photographer Neil Zlozower claims the singer/songwriter posted unauthorized photos of himself the photographer had taken, according to Billboard. The copyright infringment case was filed Monday in Los Angeles federal court.
Zlozower's attorney claims Osbourne posted pictures, including portraits with lead guitarist Zakk Wylde and former guitarist Randy Rhoads, without asking for permission or paying Zlozower a licensing fee.
Artists such as Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa have faced similar lawsuits in the past. U.S. copyright law plainly states that the person who "authored" a work (or took the picture) is the copyright owner.
The photographer also claimed to have contacted Osbourne three times, in June, August, and September last year. However, Zlozower stated he had not received a response. He then said the non-response "forced to seek judicial intervention for defendant's infringing activity."
