SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A 71-year-old Salem woman was found dead after a house fire on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 12:30 p.m., firefighters with Marion County Fire District No. 1 were sent to a house on Oak Park Drive Northeast near Randi Lane Northeast. They arrived to find the building engulfed in flames.

While crews worked to knock the fire down, they found the woman dead inside. She was identified as Lesa Lemons.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, but it does not initially seem suspicious, the sheriff's office said.
