Cowboys' George Pickens gets $35 million per year contract update from ESPN analyst

Cowboys' George Pickens gets $35 million per year contract update from ESPN analyst

The former Pittsburgh Steelers WR is now starring for the Dallas Cowboys, and he's set for a big contract sooner rather than later.

Pickens' contract is up at the end of the season. It'll set up the possibility of a franchise tag, but eventually, some team is going to give Pickens a long-term deal.

It remains to be seen whether it'll be the Cowboys or another franchise paying Pickens the big bucks.

ESPN's Ben Solak wrote this on X on Thursday: "Some team is gonna give George Pickens $35 million dollars next year."

Currently, Justin Jefferson makes $35 million per year as the second-highest-paid WR in the NFL.

During Thursday's Thanksgiving Day game, Pickens got off to a very slow start. But then he finished with six catches for 88 yards, including a sweet 39-yard grab.

Pickens is now up to 1,142 yards on the season on 73 catches to go with eight touchdowns.

He actually has more receiving yards this season than all the Steelers' WRs do when added together.

Pickens has been as advertised and more for the Cowboys. They'll have to pony up to keep him.

Because some team, somewhere in the NFL is going to pay Pickens a lot of money.
