PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan will meet with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, on October 21 in Geneva. Simonyan shared the news via his Telegram channel.

Both parliamentary leaders will attend the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), taking place in Geneva.

"I'm heading to Geneva for the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, where the Armenian delegation will participate," Simonyan stated. "On October 21, I'll meet with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament. It's been a while since we last met. I believe this meeting is highly important, especially given the current situation. Restoring public trust between our two countries is essential, and parliaments are perhaps the best avenue for achieving that. I hope the meeting goes well," he added.

The last meeting between Alen Simonyan and Sahiba Gafarova took place in April 2025 in St. Petersburg, during the 58th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
