The UK is bracing for another harsh cold snap in just a few days, as per the latest weather maps.
Much of the nation will be engulfed in low single-digit and sub-zero temperatures on November 25 due to the arrival of bitterly cold weather, as shown by WXCharts and Netweather maps.
Netweather's weather map indicates that, by Tuesday lunchtime, the coldest spot in the UK will be the Scottish Highlands, where temperatures could drop to a freezing -6C.
The nearest major city to this frosty area is Inverness, where minimum temperatures are expected to hover around a chilly -4 to -5C.
Elsewhere in Scotland, Aberdeen on the northeast coast is expected to experience temperatures of around -2C, while Dundee and Glasgow are predicted to be only slightly warmer at -1C and 0C, respectively. London, however, will manage to stay in positive figures, with lows of 1C.
Moving further south, several parts of England and Wales are also forecasted to face sub-zero temperatures on Tuesday. In Wales, while the coldest temperatures are over the Snowdonia mountains (-1 to -2C), nearby towns and cities are likely to feel the chill, reports the Mirror.
Bangor and Newtown face lows of -1C and Wrexham and St Asaph with 0-1C, according to the Express.
Major cities like Cardiff and Swansea will experience slightly milder temperatures, around 5-7C, as per the NetWeather map.
The coldest regions of England are anticipated to be the Pennines, the Midlands, and northern inland areas, where temperatures could plummet to -1C.
Sheffield is predicted to endure bitter conditions around 0 to -1C, whilst Leeds and Stoke-on-Trent will see readings hovering near 1C.
Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Derby are set for marginally milder conditions, with the mercury settling between 1C and 2C.
Meanwhile, England's coastal and southern regions will benefit from gentler weather, experiencing temperatures spanning 7C to 12C.
A WXCharts weather map for November 25 reveals an enormous dark blue mass advancing from the North, signalling Arctic temperatures as low as -8C.
This 850 hPa weather chart displays atmospheric conditions approximately one mile above ground level, proving valuable for detecting extensive air masses.
On Thursday (November 20), the Met Office verified that snow and ice warnings would persist through Friday owing to a frigid northerly airstream delivering snow showers and icy conditions across various parts of the nation.
Chief Forecaster Steve Willington cautioned: "We're still in the grip of a cold, Arctic air mass today and into Friday, and that means further wintry showers for some, and ice, particularly overnight.
"Multiple warnings are currently in place, with new warnings for the overnight period issued.
"Temperatures will fall sharply again tonight, with lows potentially reaching -12C in rural parts of Scotland and widely below freezing elsewhere. As temperatures fall overnight, ice will form on untreated surfaces and may cause some travel disruption tonight and into Friday morning."
