Lilbits: Atari and Intellivision made a retro console (kind of), Google's Privacy Sandbox is gone for good, and Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K Select with Vega OS is a lot more locked down - Liliputing

Atari and Intellivision have a few things in common. They were two of the first big players in the home video game console space. And neither brand is what it once was anymore.

So while it's intriguing to see that Atari is launching a new retro console called the Intellivision Sprint, this is really a partnership between the company that now owns the rights to the Atari name and retro game label PLAION REPLAI. It's not made by the same folks who brought us the original Atari or Intellivision. But it does have a classic design, a few modern features, and 45 classic games pre-installed... plus a USB-A port that lets you add controllers or even load additional games.

Google's Privacy Sandbox is dead. It was supposed to replace third-party cookies in the Chrome web browser, but Google scrapped that plan following years of pushback, and now Google is retiring most Privacy Sandbox technologies. privacysandbox.com/news/update-...

While you CAN apparently sideload apps on Amazon's new Fire TV Stick 4K Select with Vega OS, it's a cumbersome process that's probably not worth doing... especially since the experience is buggy and the hardware is underpowered. www.aftvnews.com/sideloading-...
