An AEW star recently announced her separation after being married for over a decade. Thunder Rosa, one of the most talented stars in the All Elite locker room, shared heartbreaking news on social media.
La Mera Mera was married to Brian Cervantes in 2006. He has been backing his wife during the ups and downs of her career. He is also involved in different wrestling podcasts where he shares his takes. However, it seems that, for unknown reasons, the two individuals have decided to go their separate ways.
Thunder Rosa took X and issued an official statement. The AEW star thanked everyone for their support during these challenging times. She said the two are separating after 14 years.
"After 14 years together, Brian Cervantes and I have decided to go our separate ways in a friendly and respectful manner. Relationships sometimes change shape, but the care and respect remain. I had the privilege of raising and adopting his son as my own, a gift I will always carry in my heart. I'm grateful for the support I received at the beginning of my career, and I kindly ask for respect and understanding during this time of transition. Thank you for always standing by me," she wrote.
La Mera Mera was last seen on TV four months ago at the 2025 AEW All In: Texas. She may have been injured during the first-ever women's Casino Guantlet match.
Thunder Rosa recently took to Instagram to reveal that she has started training and will be back in the ring soon.
"Like I said, I'm training for my comeback. Once again, it's all good -- it's 80 degrees in Texas. I trained for an hour and started sweating 20 minutes in. Thanks to Melissa, she's one of my strength and conditioning trainers. She's freaking awesome," she said.
It remains to be seen if her divorce affects her comeback date.
