Tesla Resolves Recall for 694,304 Vehicles with Software Fix

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) has released a software update in line with a recall covering 694,304 vehicles. The recall covers a non-compliance issue with some ofits vehicle's tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning lights.

Among the impacted models are certain Model 3 (20172025), Model Y (20202025), and Cybertruck (2024). Tesla identified that a prior software release did not meet compliance standards for TPMS malfunction warnings.

Tesla said it has not received any reports of accidents, injuries, or deaths resulting from the condition, however as of December 13 it has noted 76 warranty claims and one field report on the problem.

Vehicles under production started getting the revised software starting November 15. Owners of cars fitted with software update 2024.38.200 or later are not obliged to act further. Other owners should make sure their cars have the required software fix to keep compliance, according to Tesla.

The recall emphasizes Tesla's continuous initiatives via over-the-air software updates to aggressively solve car performance problems. It's important to note that Tesla stock surged 79.4% YTD, and over 141% in the past six months.
