Volleyball's regular season in Georgia high schools is officially over. Teams ended their region tournaments and decided winners over the weekend. Now, it's time for the postseason, a GHSA-wide competition beginning on Oct. 14.
The first, second and quarterfinal rounds are hosted by the higher seeds in the matchups. Round 1 is Oct. 14-15, Round 2 is Oct. 18 and the quarterfinals will be held Oct. 21-22.
After that, the semifinals will be held at the LakePoint Sports Complex -- located at 261 Stars Way in Cartersville, Ga. Those games will take place on Oct. 25. In past years, the GHSA held the semifinals at different neutral sites. This will be the first time that they take place at the same venue that the championships will be held.
The championships are set for Oct 29-30. Match times for that Wednesday are 1 p.m., 3:30, 6 and 8:30. Match times for that Thursday are 2 p.m., 4:30 and 7. Classifications have not been assigned to specific slots as of yet.
GIAA-wide competition began Oct. 4 and concluded on Oct. 11 in Rome, Ga. Augusta Prep made it to the final four, but ultimately fell to Grace Christian in four sets. The full GIAA brackets can be seen here.
