The Dublin bonfire hotline has been opened - as the public have been urged to report Halloween stockpiles.
Dublin City Council are encouraging the capital's citizens to report any rubbish piles they find to help stop large illegal bonfires on October 31. They say if you see waste being gathered or stored for bonfires, you can take action by:
The Council say they have crews available on call out of hours on the northside and southside, supported by gardai, in removing hazardous materials. Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Ray McAdam said: "Halloween should be a time of celebration and community, not danger and destruction.
"Illegal bonfires pose serious risks to public safety, property, and the environment. I urge everyone to play their part by reporting stockpiling and choosing to celebrate Halloween safely and responsibly.
"A quick call or online report can help prevent injuries and protect our neighbourhoods. Let's work together to keep our city safe and festive for all ages."
